What This Builds
A single calendar view that aggregates scheduled content across every format and channel. Set a publish date and time on any content record and it appears on the calendar automatically — no manual entry, no separate scheduling tool, no hunting across platforms to figure out what's going live when.
Why Build It
Most people don't have a content calendar problem. They have a content visibility problem. The editorial calendar lives in one place. Social is scheduled somewhere else. Email goes out of a third tool. And nobody has a clear picture of what's actually happening this week across all of it.
The working calendar fixes this by treating publish date as a first-class field on every content record — not an afterthought. When a blog post, a newsletter, a Substack note, and three social posts all have a publish date set, they all show up in the same view. You can see the full week at a glance, spot gaps, catch collisions, and balance your rhythm without toggling between five tools to piece it together.
The goal is simple: set the date, it shows up on the calendar. That's it.
What You Need
Tools
Notion, Airtable, or any tool that supports a calendar view filtered by a date field. Google Sheets can work as a manual fallback but won't give you the auto-populate behavior.
Setup Level
If your tool supports linked or relation fields, setting a publish date on a content record will auto-populate the calendar — no extra steps. If it doesn't, you'll add entries manually, but the single-view principle still applies and is still worth building.

I want to build a working content calendar in [Notion / Airtable — name your tool] that aggregates all of my scheduled content into one view — blog posts, emails, newsletters, social posts, Substack articles, podcasts, and anything else I publish.
The mechanic I want: when I set a publish date and time on any content record, it automatically appears on the calendar. I don't want to maintain a separate calendar — I want the calendar to be a view of the content I've already built.
Help me set this up with:
A publish date + time field on each content record (or a shared content table if I'm keeping everything in one place)
A calendar view filtered by that publish date field so all content types show up together
A way to see content type or channel at a glance (color coding by type, a tag field, or a filter I can toggle)
A publishing queue — approved content with no date set yet — so I can see what's ready to schedule and fill gaps intentionally
Walk me through how to build this in [tool name] specifically. If my tool supports linked records, show me how to pull content from multiple tables into one calendar view. If it doesn't, tell me the cleanest workaround that still gives me one place to see everything.
